NOTICE: Judicial Vacancies in the Superior Court 

The Judicial Selection Commission, established by Governor John H. Lynch by an executive order dated February 25, 2005, hereby posts notice of judicial vacancies in the New Hampshire Superior Court for 2008.
 
There are currently three vacancies on the Superior Court bench.  The Judicial Selection Commission intends to screen all candidates for the three vacancies in one review process. 

Please submit your application to be considered for appointment to the Superior Court bench at this time.  All interested and qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.  Applicants with training and experience in business and commercial matters should note that 2008 N.H. Laws Chapter 124 (SB 378) authorizes Governor Lynch to appoint the first presiding justice of a new business and commercial dispute docket in the Superior Court.

Applications may be downloaded from the websites of the Governor of New Hampshire or the NH Bar Association. Applications also may be requested by calling 271-7677. Please be sure to use the 2007 application.

Completed applications (revised for 2007) must be postmarked by July 25, 2008.

Applications may also be delivered to the law firm of Orr & Reno, 1 Eagle Square, Concord, NH, by July 25, 2008.

Anticipated Vacancies in 2008:

It is also anticipated there will be five vacancies on the District Court Bench and one vacancy on the Probate Court bench in 2008.

Formation of Commission


The Governor's Executive Order creating the Judicial Selection Commission provides that  "(t)he names of persons considered by the Commission shall remain confidential except to the extent necessary for the Commission to carry out its responsibility to evaluate candidates."



The Judicial Selection Commission will send you a letter acknowledging receipt of your Application and Questionnaire, and may also contact you to appear for an interview. The Judicial Selection Commission will not otherwise contact you regarding the status of your application until after the Governor announces his nominee.
