What is an E-mail Discussion Group? (referred to as a listserve)
An e-mail discussion group is a way to communicate with a group of colleagues via e-mail without having to know each person's e-mail address because the names and addresses of all the group's members are stored in a separate mailing list. When a group member wants to send an e-mail to the rest of the group, he/she sends the e-mail to the list's e-mail address; the e-mail is received by the list server and is then redistributed to the members of the group. This enables individual group members to easily communicate with the rest of the group without each member having to maintain their own e-mail address group--all the adding and deleting of members, and e-mail address changes are managed in the separate mailing list on the e-mail list server. You only need one address--the list's e-mail address--to contact the rest of the members of your group.
Who Hosts the NHBA Listserve?
The NHBA Listserves are hosted by Intus Technolgies using Lyris List Manager software.
What are the Available NHBA E-mail Discussion Groups? The NHBA has created separate e-mail discussion groups, established for the purpose of facilitating discussions related to the focus or purpose of each group. These group are:
New Lawyers (1 list): A moderated e-mail discussion group dedicated to newer lawyers (admitted to the NH Bar within the last 5 years). The purpose of this e-mail discussion group is to facilitate communication and provide an avenue for networking between lawyers who have been practicing in NH for less than 5 years and members of the NH Bar Association's New Lawyers Committee. It is a tool to share useful and pertinent information, tips, resources, and questions and answers on many subjects.
Sections (21 lists): There is one list for each of the 21 NHBA Practice Sections.
Who Can Participate?
The New Lawyers e-mail discussion group is available to members of the Bar who were admitted within the last 5 years and members of the NH Bar Association's New Lawyers Committee.
The Section e-mail discussion groups are a benefit available only to NHBA Section members and subscribers. You must belong to a Section to join that Section's e-mail discussion group.

Are you a New Lawyer or Section Member but not on the E-mail discussion list?
