Welcome to Class of 2012!
Twelve attorneys from throughout the state have been selected for the Class of 2012 of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s second annual Leadership Academy.
The NHBA Leadership Academy is a yearlong program that aims to identify, inspire and train emerging leaders of the legal profession in New Hampshire. The Academy is open to NHBA members with 3-to-10 years' legal experience, and attracted a strong field of applicants. See overview.
A two-day retreat featuring Michael Brandwein, a national speaker on organizational effectiveness and leadership kicks off the Academy on Oct. 28. Participants will meet on a monthly basis for the next nine months, learning skills and receiving orientation to facets of community and professional life in New Hampshire. Working in groups, the participants will also work on a legal sector community service project.
The program is the second offered by the Association. A steering group headed by NHBA Vice President Jaye Rancourt and Past President Richard Y. Uchida and including several members of last year’s Leadership Academy class developed the program.
"The first year of the Academy was exciting and we were pleased with the results,” said NHBA Executive Director Jeannine McCoy. "We are building on that success with the Class of 2012, keeping what worked and improving it here and there. We know that this program is already showing results in developing future leaders for our Association and the legal community. "
